Hand Crocheted Organic Blanket

Crafted by Teresa, from Guanajuato, Mexico, an area known for superb textiles,
are these lovely handmade organic blankets. In a variety of sizes and colors,
all are trimmed in handcrafted organic lace.

Pictured on the left is a crocheted blanket crafted with organic merino wool in grey/brown.
It measures 26 inches x 23 inches and trimmed with organic colorgrown cotton yarn in natural color.

On the right is another crocheted blanket made with organic wool in cream,

How to care for your handcrafted blanket

Wash your handcrafted blanket in cold water and delicate laundry detergent found in most grocery stores. For a wool blanket, use wool wash, available in a variety of natural brands. Set the machine on delicate/gentle or use a front-loading machine. Hand washing is also recommended when possible.

To treat a stain, mix water and delicate laundry detergent in equal parts and "dab" mixture on the spot. Let set for a couple of minutes, then gently rub the fabric together. Apply clean new wet sponge or towel several times to remove detergent and water.

To minimize pilling on sherpa and fleece blankets, do not machine dry. Air dry flat. Do not line dry crocheted or knitted blankets as the weight of the wet yarn will pull and distort the shape of the blanket.
